Thread Social’s Chevron Skirt
Written by Urban Sherp on September 3rd, 2009
Who: Thread Social; New York, NY
What: Chevron Wool Full Skirt
Where: Thread Social, $95.
Why: There are so many designers that we just wish had a touch of green and Thread Social is definitely one of them. Designers Beth Blake & Melissa Akey are the masters of the fun flirty party dress mixing gorgeous bold prints and splashes of colors with unexpected details like folds, bows, tucks and pockets.
Now you can get your hands on a Thread Social original for a fraction of the cost and be green. Thread Social has launched ReThread to craft new pieces from salvaged off-cuts and excess fabrics from their main line that would otherwise be discarded. The ReThread collection has the same high quality craftsmanship and style as the main collection but at more affordable prices. Nothing in the line is over $225.
One of our favorites for fall/winter is this wool chevron skirt with its exaggerated herringbone pattern, hidden pockets, and high satin waste band. Love it.

nice to see how they reuse scrap material to make a fabulous skirt. why don’t all designers do that? time consume, I suppose, but must be worth it for the larger sized scraps.
