Why We Love It: We first discovered Terra Plana on a scouting trip to London and fell in love with their completely original style and unparalleled comfort. This 2″ kitten heel is designed to accommodate the natural shape of your foot unlike most shoes that try to cram your toes into a narrow little V.  These shoes are perfect for days when you need to be on your feet but don’t want to sacrifice style for comfort,  soooo that would be everyday…

The Doll is made from vegetable tanned leather and recycled quilts  handmade by the nomadic Saami people of Sindh, Pakistan. The vibrant colors and the delicate stitching of the quilts is just gorgeous and the stock is always changing making each pair of Doll shoes unique.  They come in a variety of colors so when you are sitting at your desk with your gray work pants on, you can revel in the pop of hot pink, red or yellow peeping out from under your desk.

Comfort and environment definitely is the central focus in Terra Plana’s design process. The soles of the Doll are made of a combination of recycled rice husks and natural latex with foot beds made of recycled leather and recycled memory foam for a shoe with shock absorption and  a ‘light’ eco-footprint.

Terra Plana has gone so far as to develop an Eco Matrix to score the environmental impact of each style based on the entire lifecycle of the shoe. Their analysis considers such factors as the amount of energy used in manufacture, the amount and types of materials used and the longevity of the product. The Doll received high marks for use of eco-friendly materials and comfort.

    Well,, if I had longer legs, the Cassia Dk Brown boot would be my pick. However, my realistic favorite is the Sylvia Chocolate Waxed boot. Great looking and the heel makes it wearable with pants, jeans and skirts.
