Elroy’s New SS10 Collection
Friday, March 26th, 2010Just got a sneak peak of Elroy’s new Spring/Summer collection. The collection is full of the pleats, tucks and eco-friendly fabrics we’ve come to love from Elroy. But what we were surprised, and delighted to see was a collection filled with original prints (custom designed digitally printed organic cotton featuring manipulated satellite images of Earth like a black and white river labyrinth, a warm desert oasis and the peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro – very cool!). Absolutely love the Bloom Tank and the Sorrel Print Cardigan, that doubles as a dress for the bold at heart.
And the best news, the entire collection retails for under $120 CAD (that’s $117.60USD) and is made from organic, sustainable fabrics including soft-as silk tencel chambray denim, organic cotton and wild, raw silk – vegan friendly as the silkworms are unharmed in the production of the fabric. A fun, wearable and flattering collection for summer. Can’t wait!

Since big name designers from around the globe like Diane Von Furstenburg, Thakoon and Jose Castro made headlines last week with their tribute to eco-fashion at The EcoChic Geneva Fashion Show and Exhibition featuring sustainable and ethical ready-to-wear and couture looks, there has been a slew of news in the world of eco-fashion. Perhaps it is finally catching on…..

Very excited about this news from WWD — Stewart + Brown will be adding denim to their collection of eco-friendly tops, sweaters, skirts, dresses and jackets. So we can look forward to well tailored and refined eco-conscious jeans made of 100 percent organic cotton.
Sadly Pivot Boutique in Chicago is closing its doors, but the good news, for Chicagoans, is that they are selling off their collection of very cool custom-made store fixtures. All of the items were hand-crafted by Brickermade.com using reclaimed steel and wood – industrial, sculptural and completely unique.
Exciting news! The GreenShows Eco-Fashion Week is coming to New York September 15-16. The show will feature eco-friendly, ethically sound and fair trade fashions from eco-conscious collections by designers Bodkin, Izzy Lane, Bahar Shahpar, House Of Organic, Lara Miller, Mr. Larkin, STUDY by Tara St. James with more to come.
