Roost’s Puzzle Serving Board, Take a Piece
Written by Urban Sherp on September 30th, 2009
Who: Roost; Sausolito, CA
What: Puzzle Serving Board
Where: Velocity - $38 (ships in December); Rare Device – $38 (1 available)
Why: We are suckers for a good puzzle, so when we stumbled upon this oh-so-clever serving platter we couldn’t resist. Clearly we weren’t the only ones – this piece seems to be selling out everywhere and it is no wonder why.
The platter is made from sustainably sourced Acacia wood finished with food grade mineral oil. The six interlocking puzzle pieces join together to form a large serving platter. This, however, is a puzzle you won’t hesitate to take apart - once you’ve filled up with apps you can carry them off on your own corner piece. Great for hors d’ oeuvres, tapas and conversation starters. Now if only the little cut-outs could hold a wine glass….
Each piece is hand cut using a jig saw, so the board is not designed to stay together. To move this as a unit you will need a giant hand or a thin board to slip underneath. Otherwise we suggest preparing your cheese board where you don’t intend on moving it unless in separate pieces.
Can’t wait ’til Christmas? Check out the rustic Log Wedge Serving Platter from Roost, also available for $38.

This is awesome. December is perfect timing for Christmas gifts. I can wait. I wonder if its weird to store away? Stack the pieces?
