Why We Love It: One brother hails from manufacturing and the other from architecture and when the two joined forces to launch Objeti the result was a highly polished, highly innovative collection of pendants, stools and coffee tables. After seeing the collection first hand, it’s no surprise that the Ribic brothers were awarded the Editors Award for Best New Designer at ICFF this year – they were definitely a highlight of the show.
Our favorite piece were the Drop Stools. The are constructed mostly of reclaimed materials. The wood seats are made from ‘drops’ collected from local woodworkers, the scrap and offcuts that would otherwise go to waste. The seats are so expertly shaped that they almost look like they are cast from a mold. The seat is well contoured to your ‘seat’ and the X and O leg bases provide a nice perch for your feet. The powder coated aluminum legs contain 90 percent recycled material and are cut on a high precision machine to reduce waste.
