Why: Ergonomical, customizable, and environmentally friendly, oh my! The Mohop line of wooden sandals features six different styles nicknamed the ‘infinity-sandal’ for the clever and highly adaptable design. Each sandal is meticulously made by hand and is both green in design and execution. My favorite is the high wedge pictured at right. The curved footbed is crafted from sustainably sourced cherry from Pennsylvania forests and padded with recycled rubber soles; even the glues and finishes are eco-friendly. The flexible design concept makes the sandal even ‘greener’ as longevity is key, and, perhaps, with a sandal that is multiple shoes in one, you could survive with one less pair of shoes……..
The wooden base arrives with a set of ribbons and a booklet outlining various ribbon tying methods, so you easily reinvent your wedge to suit your look. Check out the gallery to see just a sampling of the countless ways you can modify your sandal. On a whim you can turn your black strappy sandals into a nautical inspired slide.
