Richlite Kitchen Countertops Guide
Richlite specializes in the manufacture of natural fiber composite countertops, an incredibly eco-friendly countertop option. Basically that take recycled paper, FSC-Certified wood pulp or abaca (hemp) fibers and treat them with a phenolic resin that is then baked into a solid sheet building layer upon layer to create a solid, durable countertop.
Two of their eco-friendly countertop options contain recycled content including a countertop made of 50% post-consumer corrugated cardboard and the other is made from 100% post-consumer paper waste. The entire manufacturing process of these countertops is designed to be as eco-friendly as possible incinerating 99% of the VOC (volatile organic compounds) generated during the drying process and capturing that heat to reuse for the drying process. The Richlite products have no off-gassing and all of their products are GREENGUARD certified. Richlite offers a great eco-friendly countertop option for your green renovation or building projects.
Their countertops are made from environmentally sustainable resources such as recycled and FSC-certified paper and offer a unique, attractive, durable and long lasting countertop that can be designed to suit your taste and needs. The final product is stain resistant, scratch resistant, sanitary and easy to maintain. Unlike quartz products the color permeates the entire thickness of the countertop, so if scratches do occur, they are less noticeable.
These ‘green’ countertops are available in a variety of colors including black diamond, redstone, green mountain, yellow island, chocolate glacier, blue canyon and r60, so you’ll have no problem finding a color to suit your ‘green’ kitchen. History
Richlite has been manufacturing quality countertops for the last 65 years and is considered one of the leading manufacturers of premium paper-composite countertops. They recently launched their new FSC-Certified eco-friendly countertop collection along with a recycled paper series. They were the first company to offer hemp-based countertops using abaca fibers purchased from the Philippines and Ecaudor. All of their products are GREENGUARD certified.
They are currently undergoing testing to qualify their products for LEED building certifications.

Richlite® surface is a durable, attractive material designed to stay beautiful for the lifetime of your kitchen, bath or office space. A simple wipe up with soap and warm water on a regular basis will maintain its beauty. Richlite’s testing laboratory recommends that fabricators finish the surface with a non-oil-based sealant to provide a rich, polished finish that requires minimum care.
Warranty
Richlite warrants to the owner of the original installation that its Richlite Surface material will be free from material defects for a lifetime. This warranty only applies to the original owner and is not transferable.The obligation of Richlite and its distributors is limited, at their option, to repair of replace material found to be defective and excludes shipping charges and costs of removal and reinstallation. This is a product only warranty.
