EnviroGLAS countertops (EnviroSLABS) are made of post-consumer and industrial glass and porcelain salvaged from local recycling programs in the north Texas area including bottles, mirrors and plate windows. The glass is crushed down and mixed with an epoxy resin. EnviroGLAS recycles a waste product, reduces waste in landfills, conserves natural resources, contributes to a healthy, safe indoor environment, saves energy and water, and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. 75% of the overall content is recycled glass and 25% is the epoxy resin binder. The epoxy resin used has no VOCs and minimal emissions during production. Cured EnviroGLAS is VOC-free.
EnviroGLAS products can be used for both residential and commercial projects and may contribute up to 7 LEED points to your green building project. In addition to eco-friendly countertops, EnviroGLAS can also be used for flooring and tiling.
EnviroGLAS countertops are incredibly durable and will last a lifetime, but if desired they can be ground up and recycled into new flooring materials at the end of their lifecycle. They are much like granite in strength and durability. These eco-friendly countertops are scratch, chip and heat resistant and are resistant to chemicals and bacterial growth.
EnviroGLAS countertops are available in a wide array of colors–some more bold than others, like the fire engine red and Sand Dollar. The final look is definitely unique and a brilliant way to add color to your green kitchen. Care & Maintenance for your EnviroGLAS Countertops
No waxing required, which further reduces waste of harsh chemicals and water. The countertops can be wiped clean with neutral cleansers and water and if needed, a granite polish may be applied periodically. Not recommended for outdoor use.
Warranty
EnviroGLAS offers a limited one year warranty for EnviroSLAB and EnviroPLANK products.
