Eco Countertops Search for Certified Eco Dealers & Installers

Eco Countertops are similar in appearance to Silestone (actually manufactured by the same company, Cosentino, by the same process) or a highly polished granite. Eco Countertops are made of a mixture of recycled glass (72%) and a binder containing 22% corn-oil resin.

Bottles, mirrors, windowpanes, porcelain dishware, sinks and toilets, stone scraps and even crystallized ash are salvaged for use in these eco-friendly countertops recovering materials destined for landfills instead of using virgin materials. This mixture of materials creates a unique surface with multiple layers and depth. It is available in 10 different colors and two collections the Green Collection and the Revive Collection.

The Green Collection is composed of colors containing 75% post-industrial recycled raw materials featuring Polar Cap, Crystal Ash and Starlight made using recycled mirrors; Luan and Crystal Sand using mainly recycled glass and porcelain; and Black Forest using a mix of recycled glass and quarried stone. The Revive Collection is made of 75% post-consumer recycled raw materials and features Terra, Riverbed and Iron Ore made of recycled glass, mirrors and industrial furnace residuals and White Diamond made of recycled glass. Both are available in leather or polished finishes.

It is an incredibly durable product that is scratch resistant and does not stain. Because it is non-porous then is no need for sealers. In addition to countertops, Eco countertops can be used for worktops, walls, backsplashes even interior flooring.

Efforts are made to ensure that the manufacturing process is eco-friendly as well. 94% of the water used in the manufacturing process is recycled and any minerals used are quarried under strict stewardship programs to protect the air.

Eco Countertops are one of the few countertops to be MBDC Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver certified, one of the most highly rated and rigorous green standards in the industry. MBDC looks at the entire lifecycle of the product, from transport of materials, to types of materials, to manufacturing to the end use of the product, cradle to cradle. Use of Eco Countertops in your green renovation or green building project will qualify your project for up to 5 points toward LEED certification adnnd is GREENGUARD certified for low chemical emissions.
