ecoheater

Who: ECO-heater; Alexandria, VA

What: ECO-heater Electric Panel

Where: Amazon – $120 w/free shipping in the US – Eco-heater 602 High-Efficiency Electric Panel Whole-Room Heater

Why We Love It: So, yes, when January rolls around in New England, we become completely obsessed with island escapes and trying to remember just what it feels like to be warm…

So we were excited to learn about ECO-heater’s slim wall-mounted heater. It is super energy efficient employing a natural convection technology and using 73% less electricity than standard space heaters, about 400 watts, 3.5 cents/hour.

Recommended for 10×12 rooms, this perfect for our office. The penal is mounted about 3/4″ from a wall, you won’t have to worry about tripping over the heater or its cords. And it can be painted to blend even more seamlessly in your room.

I have to say, the yoga studio I go to has an eco-heater which gives off a foul toxic smell, the last thing you’d expect from an “eco-heater” and a yoga studio. Everyone in my class feels slightly nauseous from it and some get headaches. I’ve found several other similar complaints from googling “eco-heater’ and “smell”.

SarahA – I’d definitely be interested to know what kind of heater was used in your studio. The studio where I do ‘hot’ yoga (be.Yoga in Union Sq. in Somerville, MA http://beinunion.com/) has 4 of these wall heaters installed and I’ve never noticed an odor, although I don’t have a very strong ‘sniffer’, but I also haven’t heard any complaints from others in the class or instructors.
