Chair Upholstery 101 V.4 – Taking Shape
Written by Urban Sherp on May 31st, 2010Finally my stripped down chair is beginning to take on its old shape. Layers of 100% cotton batting and foam and more cotton are the makings for one cushy chair. All those staples I spent hours removing, are now being put back in place in abundance.
I had a hard time finding eco-friendly, chemical free foam and cotton. A majority of the batting on the market is a polyester blend and even 100% cotton batting is hard to find, but I can tell you it feels some much nice and breathes so much easier than the synthetic blends. If you are looking for more eco-friendly batting options on the market, here are some alternatives: Kyoto Bamboo Blend Batting Queen, Soy Soft Soy Blend Batting
and Warm & Natural Cotton Batting
. You may pay a little more, but it’s worth it!
